Seattle Invited to “Show Up, Seattle!” for Annual Citywide Day of Service, Register to Host Volunteer Projects

Seattle Department of Neighborhoods invites residents of Seattle to save the date for Show Up, Seattle!, Seattle’s annual citywide day of service, taking place on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

As the Department of Neighborhoods celebrates 35 years of partnering with communities across Seattle, we’re especially grateful for the organizations, neighborhood groups, schools, faith communities, and residents who care for our city every day. You are the stewards of our neighborhoods. You create places where people feel welcome, connected, and like they belong. At a time when so many people are looking for ways to reconnect with one another, Show Up, Seattle! comes at exactly the right moment. We hope you’ll join us by hosting a volunteer event and inviting neighbors to help. Together, we can strengthen the relationships that make Seattle resilient, one neighborhood and one act of service at a time.

Now in its fifth year, Show Up, Seattle! Day of Service brings together thousands of volunteers across the city to support neighborhood cleanups, beautification, community gardens, parks, schools, nonprofit organizations, and other community-led service projects. The Department of Neighborhoods now seeks organizations, neighborhood groups, schools, faith communities, businesses, and residents to host volunteer events that will become part of this year’s citywide day of service.

Every year, the Day of Service reminds us of what’s possible when neighbors come together with a shared purpose. We’ve seen firsthand the energy, pride, and lasting impact that volunteers bring to our neighborhood. Hosting a volunteer event isn’t just about getting work done. It’s about welcoming people into your community, building new relationships, and showing them why these places matter. We’re grateful to partner with Department of Neighborhoods on this effort and excited to see even more organizations and neighborhoods across Seattle open their doors and create opportunities for people to show up for Seattle and serve.

The Department of Neighborhoods is now accepting applications from organizations, neighborhood groups, schools, faith communities, businesses, and residents interested in hosting volunteer events for this year’s day of service. Whether it’s cleaning up a neighborhood park, caring for a community garden, supporting a local nonprofit, or organizing another community improvement project, volunteer hosts help create opportunities for neighbors serve together.
